1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the website, services, or programs of Sunshine State Academy K–12 (“School,” “we,” “our,” or “us”), you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use our services.
2. Eligibility & Use
Services are intended for parents/guardians and enrolled students. Parents/guardians are responsible for all student activity and records submitted. Use must be lawful and educational.
3. Educational Model & Parent Responsibilities
Sunshine State Academy K–12 operates as a private, parent-directed umbrella school.
Parents/guardians are solely responsible for: curriculum selection and implementation, daily instruction and supervision, academic progress and pacing, compliance with all applicable education laws, and submission of accurate academic records.
The School does not provide daily instruction and is not responsible for educational delivery or outcomes.
4. Florida Compliance Statement
Sunshine State Academy K–12 operates in Florida. Private schools in Florida are not licensed, approved, or accredited by the Florida Department of Education. The School maintains records in accordance with Florida law. Families outside Florida are responsible for their own compliance requirements.
5. Enrollment, Fees, and STRICT NO REFUND POLICY
Enrollment is confirmed only upon payment. ALL FEES ARE FINAL AND NON-REFUNDABLE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. No refunds will be issued for: withdrawal or dismissal, dissatisfaction, unused services, or changes in plans.
6. Chargebacks, Payment Disputes, and Collections
You agree not to initiate chargebacks. If a dispute occurs: account access will be suspended, records may be withheld, and any balance owed may be sent to collections. You are responsible for all recovery costs, fees, and legal expenses.
7. Records Release & Account Standing
Records will only be released if the account is in good standing. Accounts are not in good standing if: payment is outstanding, a dispute/chargeback exists, required documentation is missing, or policies are violated.
8. Academic Integrity & Verification
The School may request documentation at any time, require placement testing, or modify or deny credits. Falsification may result in dismissal and revocation of credits.
9. Reporting Requirements
Failure to submit required reports may result in: fees, mandatory curriculum placement, or suspension or dismissal.
10. Graduation Eligibility (School Discretion)
A diploma from Sunshine State Academy K–12 is awarded solely at the discretion of the School. Completion of coursework alone does not guarantee graduation. The School reserves the right to verify all coursework and grades, require additional documentation or assessments, and deny graduation if requirements are not met or cannot be verified. Graduation decisions are final.
11. Communication Policy (Including Pre-Enrollment Limits)
Response time: 5–7 business days
Pre-Enrollment: General questions are welcome. Extended or repeated guidance is limited. Website and FAQ must be reviewed first. Additional support may require paid consultation
Enrolled Families: Excessive or inappropriate communication may result in communication limits, required consultation, or termination.
12. Intellectual Property
All content belongs to Sunshine State Academy K–12 and may not be copied or distributed without permission.
13. Limitation of Liability
We do not guarantee academic success, graduation timelines, college admissions, or scholarships. We are not liable for curriculum performance, student outcomes, or third-party decisions.
14. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Sunshine State Academy K–12 from any claims, damages, or legal actions resulting from misuse of services, inaccurate reporting, or failure to comply with laws.
15. Force Majeure
The School is not responsible for delays or failures due to events beyond control, including natural disasters, technology failures, or government actions.
16. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the state of Florida.
17. Modifications
We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
