Can you believe everything your eyes see? Discover the fascinating world of optical illusions in this creative, hands-on art course that combines artistic expression, visual perception, science, and geometry!
 
Students will explore how the eyes and brain work together to interpret images while learning to create mind-bending artwork that appears to move, bend, float, or jump off the page. Inspired by famous optical artists such as M. C. Escher, Victor Vasarely, and Bridget Riley, students will experiment with patterns, perspective, shading, color, and three-dimensional effects.
 
Through engaging art projects, visual experiments, and creative challenges, students will design impossible shapes, warped checkerboards, 3-D drawings, tessellations, and moving illusions while developing observation, problem-solving, and artistic skills in this half-year course.
