Grading & Attendance in Gradekeeper
To aid parents with keeping up with their students’ grades and attendance, parents can use GradeKeeper. You can go here to download and access GradeKeeper Download Gradekeeper. When it asks for your school’s name enter Sunshine State Homeschool Academy. Our license key is 641385. Even after our school’s name was changed, the credentials for GradeKeeper have remained the same. You can also access Gradekeeper via Google Drive, which saves your classes in your Google Drive. This option seems the most user friendly and screenshots have been included below. Parents can use this tool and then report grades and attendance to SSA. Note that Gradekeeper is completely optional. Parents are not required to use Gradekeeper to aid them in grading their students work or tracking attendance.
Creating Your “Class”: You will need a “class” for each subject your student is taking. You can list multiple students in each class.
1. Go here Gradekeeper and click on the link to the “Google Drive edition.”
2. The Gradekeeper classroom will open up. Before doing anything else, you need to sign in with Google (top left corner).

Setting the Schedule: You can do this once you are signed in:
1. Click on “options” in the lower right corner.
2. The first option to edit will be school year. You can sent these dates based on your preference. Please make sure to complete SSA’s reporting at the end of each semester.
3. Before making any other changes, save your classroom. Click the disk icon at the top to save.
4. Name it whatever you like. Note that naming it your students name and class (Student.Chemistry) may be helpful. The name below is just an example. This will save the file in your Google Drive. It is a good idea to confirm that it is there before making any other changes to your classroom.

Using the Gradebook
1. To use the gradebook to aid you in grading your students, click “gradebook” in the lower left corner.
2. You can now enter your students name(s).
3. You can add assignments in each column, as needed and enter any grades assigned. This is just an option. At the end of each semester, you will enter grades earned in our semester reporting form.
4. If you like, you can download student progress reports from Gradekeeper. Click on reports along the bottom row.
5. Click “Student Progress Report” from the report options shown. The report will show each student on their own page, the student’s name, semester, assignments completed, grades for assignments, and then current grade in the course (If you want to use Gradekeeper for each class your student is taking, you will need to save each “classroom” as a different course). You can then save the progress report for your records.
6. When completing the semester reporting form for SSA, enter your students semester grade on the form.

Tracking Attendance
1. To log attendance, start by clicking “attendance in the lower left corner.
2. Your attendance sheet should show your students names, the key (Ab/T where Ab is absent and T is tardy), and then the weekdays for the semester you are currently tracking. The attendance sheet will only show one semester at a time. If your student was “present” and did school, there is no need to make any edits to the attendance sheet. If they were “absent” or did not do any school a particular day, for whatever reason, you can enter Ab in the attendance sheet. The attendance sheet automatically calculates the number of days “absent” and “tardy.”
3. You will need to note the number of days “absent” per semester for your records. You can download an attendance report directly from Gradekeeper with this information. Click on “reports” along the bottom row.
4. Gradekeeper then shows you the different report options. You can click “Student Attendance Report” to download the attendance report. The report will show each student on their own page and display the student’s name, semester, dates absent, and total number of absences. Save the report for your records.
5. When reporting semester attendance on our reporting form, you will indicate that your student has met the needed days of attendance.
